HELLLLLLLO!!

So I started off my "summer" with a little maymester...8am-5pm everyday except sunday...no big deal.

This maymester included a little worksho

p put on by the national FFA officers...don't worry since I took the class I am automatically an FFA member...card and everything! So need any pigs or cows or farms taken care of...you know who to call ;)

So that was fun, hung out with a random but fun group of people including a trip up to campus at night to explore with Keni, Chase and Todd. fun night. I got home last wed. and immediately drove to my grandparents lake house for the weekend.

some of the funny events that happened:

We decided we were going to see "Robin Hood" in the little po-dunk movie theater in Gun Barrel, Tx. We get there and mom asks "isn't robin hood the one that steals from the blind and gives to the poor?"-in all seriousness. then papa (grandpa) starts searching around his seat in the theater looking for the remote to turn it up...

We get home and start watching a home makeover show (one of the many ones on TLC)

I simply ask, "Why are carpenters so sexy?"

Aunt Deb: "Dang and those muscles!"

Mom: "It's because they're doing all that screwing"

not too much more family stuff can be shared but this is the PG stuff.

We also played a little game where each person had to go around and say the names that they had heard people call the female body part (think lower)

yep that's my inappropriate little family but ya gotta love em.

Since I've gotten back I've gotten to talk to Lex (on the way home), Brooke kenz-a little bit and Smass. And last night Lindsay and Lance came over and my dad grilled us burgers and we got to eat and fellowship which was awesome. I love that I got to see them :)

So i've been in frisco for about 2 days now and tomorrow me, my sis, mom and dad leave for the wonderful world of Disney. So excited about it! I love feeling like a kid again and get me around Space Mountain, Cinderellas Castle, Belle (Beauty and The Beast) and you've got the little 5 yr old that is stored up within me. Maybe i'll even go on my honeymoon there someday....

So the countdown begins for my sister's engagement...I'm guessing it's soon and they're getting more serious and it's only a matter of time now..

I did find out that I am for sure going to art school after I graduate to focus on photography, design (either fashion or interior) and if I did interior I would want to do it more for stores rather than houses. Think anthropologies amazing decorations...gets me everytime.

Anyway I think that's all for now, I miss you all so much and can't wait to get back in July and see most of y'all again! :)

Hello everyone!

I miss you all so much!

It's day 2 now of summer school in Cstat and I'm having so much fun in my new house!(Kenz, Linds, and Al can't wait till y'all get here!) It was such a simple joy to leave the house yesterday and get to lot 97 in 4 minutes!!! College Station isn't quite the ghost town that I thought it was going to be, but it is definitely a lot calmer. I love the classes that I am taking so far, but I do have a lot of work a head of me, so please be praying for obedience and the Lord's guidance for they will be greatly appreciated(and my parents will be appreciative too ;) ) I'm excited about the challenges and adventures a head of me though.

Home was SO good. Being with the family was such a blessing and I got to watch Elly at a lot of events since her senior year is coming to a close!

I really am so thrilled to have Elly down here next semester. There is so much of me that thinks I know exactly how to walk her through the college life and I am so tempted to be hands on in her journey of growth here...

BUT... the Lord has been teaching me a lot about praying with faith and surrendering control. So I am giving even my sister to Him (her new friends, new temptations, spiritual growth, her boyfriend-ah!) doesn't it seem tempting that in the things we REALLY desire we feel as if in those situations we need to take control from the Lord? Maybe it's just me... but it has been so freeing to be reminded of the peace that transcends ALL understanding).

I got to go to Pine Cove the other weekend with Michelle Smith and it was SO GREAT to see Anna and all of the Ranch camp friends. The staff got to hear about House of Faith and the Lords work through it. Afterwards we went to visit our Director's wife who is the most tangible role model of a Godly woman that I have ever met. She has her own blog about her family and random journal entries. I hope to be the mom, wife, friend, and leader that she is... here is her blog that I thought I would share :

Brooke came to visit last night and it was such a blessing and energy booster to see her :) I've loved living with Brit again and Julie. Just wait till you walk into our kitchen, you'll find our beautiful mascot...The house is pretty much done except for a few boxes in the kitchen, but it's making me so excited about our Recipe Club next year! I'm praying for each and every one of you. I'm in class from 10-130 this whole summer so please give me a call out side of those times! Isaiah 40:3 has been on my heart today for all of you at camp, internships, or in school. My prayer for us is that we all would in our own way "Prepare the way for the Lord".

SMASS IS MISSIN HER SISTASS!

Hello dear friends!

Can I just say how much I miss yall and how sad I am that I couldn't make it to Dallas for Brookies bday! I have had a LOT of time on my hands with this whole surgery thing so I have been praying for you guys :) Hokay, so here's my update:

-for the first few days that I was home I got to spend some time with the whole fam, before Anna left for sky ranch, which was so great! Anna is super excited about camp and called me yesterday- her and Brooke are in the same group! She has already met a ton of people- and I'm feeling that this is such an answered prayer for her! (She had a bit of a rough-but good learning experience- for her freshman year)

-The next week I started my internship and HOLY COW I would looove to work for them after I graduate! On the very first day they asked me to write a press release about their 10 yr anniversary party (which I helped out with before school got out) and by the third day I asked if I could re-vamp the blog (it was literally black and white- so ug!) and they let me!

-Buuuut my current situation kinda sucks, and I would love yalls prayers- I think most of yall know I had surgery last thursday and although everything went great the swelling has been terrible and I look like a Who!! But seriously.....we had some family friends over and their 5 year old daughter was like "Mom, she looks like Cindy from the Grinch!" hahaha. But the swelling has caused me to have awful chronic headaches and for the first two days I couldn't leave my bed. It's alot better now- still swollen, still can only eat soup and pudding, and still have headaches- but I can walk around now and can talk on the phone (hint hint ;) But it's so crazy how through this I have felt sooooo blessed. My parents have been so incredibly patient, family friends have come over just to pray for me and watch a movie, and friends have been calling and praying and making me feel so loved. This is me making a "Kenzie-sad-face" haha

-Another huge bummer which I don't think I have informed everyone about is that because of the condition of my gums and bone above my teeth (it's really technical basically, not because my teeth aren't straight-yeah I don't really get it) I have to have braces for 6 months.... although it's not the end of the world, and I know that this is all apart of the Lords plan (I'm guessing a lesson in humility...haha) it still sucks. Senior year, really? I will be getting them in a month or so and I think I will be coming to cstat the weekend before- we should all meet up and have a gum chewing, laffy taffy eating, bar-hop-before-I-look-too-young-to-get-into-bars party!! Yeah?

Welp, that's all my news for now (sorry its so long!!) but I LOVE YALL and miss you guys dearly. I'm loving this idea! Again, props brooke and bg. Yall are the greatest!

UPDATEEEEE

Hello Sistaaaazzz!

I decided I would make my first blog post.. of all times actually. I think I'll break it up in bulletpoint form (we know how much I love my bulletpointssssss)

-I moved into my extended stay hotel apartment yesterday with the help of Yvonne and John. :-) It's pretty small.. but I'll admit. I reallyyyy like living alone! Weird huh? NO worries Kenz, can't wait to live with you! It'll be even better!

- First day of work today and Primetime Sports! LOVEEDDDD ITT!!! I really like everyone I work with and the interns have "weekly rotations" which means I'll get a hands on experience with every aspect of the business! I'm really pleased with everything so far~

-Just watched Gossip Girl and am falling into depression... my baby died? Really? I'm gonna stick with the belief that he gets rescued. Still, I am very disappointed in his "Little J" decision. ew.

-I miss all my best friends.. but NOT FOR LONGGG!!! See you guys on Wednesday!!!

-I have plentyyy of time to be praying for my girls SOOO lemme know what things you want me to send up to our Pops and I'll get right on that ;-) I wanna encourage ya'll to stay in the Word and keep seeking after God this summer. I'll be there trying alongside you. Let me know what you're learning!!!

hello all!

kenzie here... you source into the scandelous lives of dallasites. (yes... that means that i'm pretty excited about gg season finale tomorrow)

well.. pretty happy about this blog idea so props to brooke and brit. This being my charter post, i'll keep things short and sweet and just say that i miss all of you already and am waiting for the next time i can see you.

o... that reminds me... ALL YALL COME TO DALLAS WEDNESDAY SO WE CAN CELEBRATE BROOKE'S BIRTHDAY!!!! she's finally 21 and we are going to take dallas by storm.

i don't start work for another 2 weeks so i'm just hanging in dallas with parents, taylor&fiance, and catherine&boyfriend. yes... odd woman out but who really wants to fit in when you're born to stand out ya know?? or at least that's what i'll keep on telling myself :)
